Cat-back exhaust replacement source

Postby Lizard on Fri Jul 24, 2009 7:19 pm

The exhaust system on my '93 2 door has finally blown out. Midas quoted me me about $400 parts and labor. Thats when I decided to do it myself.
Does anyone have a good source either from a parts chain or online store that sells a good fitting replacement?

Wish I would have known earlier I may have went for it. I will email you regarding some other parts I am in need of though.

I ordered a new system from mac auto parts on ebay. The price was $115 plus 30 for shipping.
I had been contemplating it for some time but was a bit unsure about it fitting properly, and the hassles of having to deal with possibly being sent the wrong part.

I took the plunge after speaking with them and being satisfied regarding the measurments and such, but will wait have to and see.

This is the link to the item for anyone who may be interested.

i suggest just removing the cat and replace it with some straight pipe, because the cat gets plugged up in three cylinder engines and damages your valves

the cat is removed from the 91 firefly 1.0l 5sp that i bought. It has a glass pack or something that looks like it welded in it's place for silencing i suppose. seems good and no light on. I get awesome mpg's and it is pretty quiet still. I Love this car and i am picking up a 91 turbo this weekend. nasty rusty but lots of life left in it otherwise.
