Licence

I hear that Arizona's is good for 40 years.

I hear that an Indiana licence is good for 10 years.

And that In New Jersey I heard that you can't start driving until you're 18. (G*d forgive me for mentioning that state)

In Montana I heard you can drive at 14.

I know that it is cool to have a licence from California if you're from the east coast.

I know that it is legal to have up to an ounce of marijuana in your own home in Alaska, but you must recieve it as a gift. Happy Christmas, Everyone!

Please fill in with any info on as to how long drivers licences are good for, in PA it's every four years and you just pay a fee with no kind of test or anything, sounds like another scam to collect state revenue.

In South Dakota you only need-have a Post Office Box to get a drivers licence.
This is very convenient for Road Warriors.
I'm not sure if Mad Max had a Photo I.d. or not, may be, that might be why he was so mad.
I wonder if that came up in the script at all, what sort of licence he should have.
Although I do know that Happy Max would have been an entirely different sort of film. Probably about a medium sized, furry, and rambunctious creature who had lots of adventures. no, wait, thats exactly the plot that mel gibson signed up to.
Or it would be about some computerized, talking, blond-headed...... What was max hedrom, a sales man for some product?, was he in some movie or something. or was he just a created celebrity? Was he the guy who invented text messaging? I'll bet he was, and every one said no, why would you type when you can just talk. and so it never went any where....UNTIL NOW!

Isnt typing sort of going backwards with the whole technology thing?
I prefer just to talk to people, in person, and have conversations.
To me this is as good as it can get; imagine that, I dont even need to buy any products.

IIRC, mad :x max was a police officer in the first movie, so i would assume he had a photo id, but by thunderdome i would guess that sort of thing would be largely irrelevant. by thunderdome the most important thing would be where to get my next tank of gas, and how many rounds do i have for my shotgun?

i have mixed feelings about this technology we're using. in some ways it's dehumanizing. we prattle on about nearly anything with nearly everyone, never seeing or meeting them. for all you know i could be an axe-murderer typing from prison, and you could be a 12-year old google-user in antarctica. meanwhile, most of us don't know our next-door neighbor's names. but the access to information is really marvellous, and i have met (yes, actually met) some nice people through the internet.

we're wandering pretty far afield here, but it is General Discussion, after all.

The Farm is a pretty well established commune that is located in Summertown, TN.
I'd heard about it from someone who grew up there. It sounds pretty neat and awesome, although I've never been there myself.
I do see that they have a website though.

I do agree with you on Bonaroo for the most part. I mean I really would like to meet up in a field with a couple of thousand people, that is actually a dream I have for model societies, but certainly not in the blistering sun without much shade and way too loud, way too popularized music. I've never been there myself but my brother has been twice and I know that a lot of people do go regularly.

I've been through Tennesse once in my life and by far my favorite place was, and maybe in the whole U.S, was the Smokey Mountains. Man they are amazing and thrilling and just so full of excitement. I really did enjoy their splendor and Asheville NC, too. And I did like alot Graceland. Its just so inspiring to see what one person with a talent can achieve. And although his music was lewd and lascivicious, he was a pretty awesome dude.
Long before all this though, Nashville by Robert Altman was one of my favorite movies.

And also for The Post, I was wondering, what all states have licence plates on the front of the vehicle as well as the rear. I grew up in PA, we only have them on the rear. New York state has them on both the front and rear. And Now with the Marcellus Shale Horror, I see too that Texas has them on the front also.
I'm assuming that wealthier states have them on both sides; but I do think it would be neat to know all of this stuff:

# of Licence plates
Term of Licencing and any other neat quirks
Inspection/Emissions Regulations
And I guess we should probably move any of these threads over here to the GD board.
