This car is in average-good condition for its age, it runs pretty well, has 150,000 miles, some rust, and depending on the state that you live in, it may need a few parts. In PA it needs front rotors and pads, front ball joints, rear wheel cylinders, the radiator mounts need fixed, and it needs an exhaust header; And also some rust work. These needed parts without labor total about $385. I have $1,500 already in the car total and am looking to sell it for $2,222.22. Please call me at 570-435-2347. The driver's seat has a chunk out of it. I have changed the timing belt and water pump belt, changed the gear oil, flushed the radiator, put in full synthetic and a high mileage filter, put in bosch spark plugs, changed air filter and the fuel filter, took the carpets out and shampooed them, patched up any rust underneath that I could find and put undercoating on the entire bottom, even under the gas tank and the gas tank itself, and also on the painted the interior floor with undercoating. It could also use bigger lug nuts to fit the bigger wheels.

It has no heater and no radio, nor any speakers. I was planing to run an electric heater through a power inverter that will come with the car. It has 15 inch wheels that I also painted, new windshield wipers, and I also sanded and covered any small rust spots an the outer body with clear coat. The windshield does have two 6 inch cracks at the base of it, and will eventually need replaced. 2 new keys are cut and all locks match the ignition. The tires are retreds and are relatively new. There is a 5 inch and a 2 inch clean slash in the ceiling vinyl. The hydraulic arms for the hatch did not work so I took them out and use a long stick which also works for the hood. On the instrument panel, the fuel gauge and the temperature gauge do not function accurately, and this probably needs replaced.

Sorry for the mistake in grammar in my previous post, what I was saying is that I painted the entire interior floor underneath the carpets with underbody coating. And also I must add that this is a 5-speed manual transmission. And I am looking to restore any fender aprons I can find around the area here, currently it has only the well apron on the right-hand side. I was also thinking about putting on some sort of mud flaps to prevent gristly slurry from sawing thru the floor boards. In PA, they say the floor pans need some professional attention they were patched with steel plates and punch riveted from the inside when I got it and I sealed up any holes on the outside. And they say the strut towers need rust work to pass inspection and also a little bit on the front unibody.

But again, all of this inspection stuff is just from one mechanic in one state. Depending on your state, this car may work really well for you. It's just a little more than I am prepared to put into it at the current moment, though I do feel that the car is very well worth it.

Just for general information, Pennsylvania has annual safety inspections and emissions tests done at private garages throughout the state.

I usually drive 52-53 miles per hour. 52 in 45's and 53 in 55's.

I have gotten this car safety inspected and emissions tested by a Meinike garage and it is good to go on the roads of PA until August 31st 2011. It has been alligned and it now has a battery connected heater and fan defroster that cost $100 and works well. The battery is brand new. It has a brand new wind shield. Four 13 inch rims with good tires and four 12 inch wheels with 3 brand new tires. It has a new exhaust system from the header to the muffler. New front ball joints and control arms. New front rotors and pads. New rear wheel cylinders. I painted any brake parts that I could when I was in there. The radiator is now secured and all rust has been repaired. I got a better gas cap for it. The rear hatch hydraulic arms have been replaced and work well. The door handles have been repaired and all locks work inside and out.

However,
The fuel gauge and temperature gauge are still not accurate. The CV joints still make noise some times when going around turns. The rack is some times stiff when steering. There is still a big chunk out of the drivers seat, but it does not affect comfort.

I feel confident in this car and do continue to care for it, but in order to achieve maximum fuel economy, I am going to stop driving cars altogether.

dan, youre unlikely to get that much for the car here. as mentioned above, many of us are finding mechanically sound cars for $400-$600. you might have better luck on a non-metro car site, or on e-bay. even so, i think you'll have trouble getting more than, say, 1500 for a pristine example.

$6750 is what Cheverolet asked for this very car 20 some years ago, and by now with inflation the price would likely be double, so considering that, this is a very good deal-- half price.


And people go to college and pay to have people give them work, and lets just say this car is like four years of college with classes in welding, engineering (re-engineering) and sales & marketing... And not to mention the many theology lessons that I encountered while driving this car down the road. So considering all this, sticker price is not so bad
