98 Metro will not start

Postby Bradc_00 on Mon Mar 22, 2010 8:32 pm

New to the forum. I have a 98 metro and I was driving down the road and it just died. Everything works headlights, radio, turns over, but there is no spark. It has a new coil and ignition pickup. SO do you have any ideas or a way to trace it to the source. Maybe the ignition control module.

You say it turns over but you don't say if EVERYTHING turns over. If you have not already fixed this (though I suspect you have), remove the oil cap and have a friend crank the engine. I suspect the timing belt broke and if this is indeed true, the camshaft will remain stationary while your friend is cranking the engine. Please post what you found, it may be helpful to others.
