On August 1st, 2008, I brought my Metro over to Chuck the Welder to have my frame repaired on both sides.
Chuck was a skilled trades welder for Buick for over 30 years and is now retired. He still works, but not for "the Man" anymore...Chuck works for himself...and for beer.

This is Chuck.

ooo

i just had the same problem but mine is so bad it cracked and now tire is hitting back of wheel well

how far away from flint is this guy and how much beer lool

i dont know if i should fix it like he did yours or get the whole thing from a junk yard and have it welded to the firewall / body where old one is as the area that the frame for the control arm mounts is rotted too so im not sure yet how things will go

here is where mine cracked...yes i know this is the right side of your car but it looks almost as bad as my left side. the dotted red line is where it cracked and the arrow shows the direction the control arm moved..

Found a car at the wreckers that had been sprayed yearly or something. There was no rust on the sub-frame horn brackets. Cut them out for 55 bucks a piece and replaced mine for free. Your welder left a lot of rust. Thats fine unless you're planning on using the car for more than a year or two.
