...and that black rocker-guard spray holds moisture, actually promoting rust further. Maybe hes just securing his interest in more beer for next year :D

That was just a quick coat of spray paint I applied to cover the area...I plan on smearing 50 yr latex paintable caulk all over both sides, smoothing it out, and painting it real good. I've applied "Rust Converter" to the inside, so hopefully I've arrested the rust from attacking in the near future...

I will have some good rust free frame parts for a 95-01 if someone is in need. I can cut them out and ship them.

The welder actually did a good repair job. It may not be a forever job, but it at least saved the car for a few more years.

Price was right.

Anyone with a Metro needs a friend like Chuck. In fact, Chuck could probably make a fortune specializing in these Metro repairs.

Chuck seems to be more interested in an extra fridge then a fortune

Anyway, what kind of welder did he use? I am planning on doing the repair myself (And learning how to weld decently in the process 8) ), since my home is kind of a long drive from Chuck's...

It's not a show car but it looks much safer to drive. Lol. I can appreciate the welding since he obviously did not have much room to work in. I hope you did not drive the car to the shop like that.

Very nice job but there's no mention of how much beer it took.

i'd bet you could. buy yourself a cheap welder, some sheet metal, and practice on some scrap. you end up with a welder(albeit cheap), the skill to use it, and bragging rights. win-win-win.
