Question about '94 firefly & Subwoofers in trunk

Postby slipmaggot on Fri Feb 05, 2010 3:53 pm

Hey all, I've already got 2 - 4 inch speakers in the front and 2 6x9's enclosed in the trunk facing upwards, and I would like to get some serious bass going on in the trunk soon.

In the trunk, there's the carpet, and then the carpet is directly covering this section of wood that hides the underbelly of the trunk that has the doughnut tire, 4 way wrench, jack, etc. I'm wondering how much weight this wood can hold, because the weight it can hold will justify my decision on my subs. If weight isn't an issue at all, what would really get that car to thump so you could hear it from a couple blocks away? lol.

trunk? WHAT'S A TRUNK?
mine has a piece of pressboard (sawdust and glue) which is falling apart. i'm planning to replace it with 3/8th plywood, if that wouldn't work for you you could go to 1/2 inch.
